Quick questions with Anish:

1. Do you try to time lunch, dinner and breakfast or do you eat when you are hungry?

I always time my food, timing your food is very important just like your sleep cycle. Your body is accustomed to that food cycle and changing it frequently isn’t very good.

2. What is your take on organic foods, is it a big deal to you?

I try to buy vegetable which are organic, other than that it’s not a big deal. I grow basil, peppermint and mint of my own since I use them a lot in my cooking. Although organic foods are good for you, for some it’s become a luxury because of the price tag.

3. Do you eat out often? When you do, what’s your strategy to make sure you’ll still be eating healthy?

I eat out once a week, usually during the weekends, I make sure I cook my own food during weekdays. Eating out every day is unhealthy, although you may not know the affects instantly but gradually over a period of 5-6 years you’ll know the difference. I would prefer curd rice at home rather than chicken fried rice eaten outside.

4. If you could have any four people, from anywhere in place, over for dinner, who would they be?

French chef Raymond Blanc, because of his subtle and almost childlike behavior towards food. The well-known Indian YouTube celeb Sanjay Thumma, he cooks very well and most of my recipes come from him. Rachel Allen, basically to teach me how to bake, and my Mother because, who doesn’t love mom’s food?

5. Which is the most out of the world food dish you have had?

Nalli ka Salaan – Samarkhand, Infantry Road.

 6. A restaurant which you frequent often and would recommend to our readers? Please rate the restaurant with respect to food, ambience, rates and staff friendliness.

Smoke House Deli – Indirangar.

Food – 8/10

Ambience – 8/10

Staff – 9/10

Price per person – Rs. 500-600.

7. What inspired you to start your own blog and how do you find time to maintain it?

The inspiration came once I started cooking my own food and realized I loved it, going to restaurants and finding what you like is difficult, especially when you have such a wide array to choose from. Hence I started reviewing restaurants. Lately I have found it difficult to manage my blog but I do write whenever possible.
