Arranged Marriages aren’t easy, man! It takes a great deal of effort to make a marriage successful. So we got curious and wandered around in the crowded, corrupted streets of the internet to find some arranged marriage stories. People on the internet are a bit obsessed with arranged marriages.

Here are some interesting arranged marriage stories from the couples on internet

1.’A Quick Marriage’ Couple:

‘Chatt mangni patt Byah’, This one user on Reddit made this saying true by marrying the person she met just ten days ago.

“Met my husband on the 9th, agreed to marry him on the 15th, and were wed on the 20th. Literally said about two words to each other and that was with five members of his family present. Been together 13+ years. It had its ups and downs like I imagine any marriage would- arranged or not. We are very good together. He tries to makes me happy in any way he can.”

Let’s read what this user says for his contribution to our ‘arranged marriage stories’ who says he dated his intended wife for a year before finally marrying her.

2. A Couple from Andhra:

“First met my wife-to-be in Chandigarh, India. My grandfather and her father were both in the army and had been posted there, so our respective families had a get-together. This was right after I had graduated from college (she was still in high school). I don’t remember much, we both said ‘hi’ to each other but that’s about it. Around this time our families started the ‘process’, for lack of a better term.

After a year of dating (that’s essentially what it was), we got married in Andhra Pradesh(now Telangana) (both of us were Andhras). We knew each other relatively well at this point. Soon afterward, she joined me in the states, having been accepted into a Ph.D. program. I would continue to work for the next few years until we had our first child. We’ve been married for close to twenty years. Both of us are very happy in our marriage. Obviously, nothing is 100% perfect, we argue from time to time like any other couple. But she’s been a supportive, wonderful companion for all of those years and I like to think I’ve been the same.”

Right decision. You must get to know the person you are planning to spend your whole life with.

But we all still wouldn’t be able to do it. Commitment issues you know. We happen to freak out very easily just like this next user who was intimidated by the girl he met and almost lost her for good.

3. A Doctor Couple:

“I am 27 my wife is 26 we are both doctors and we had an arranged marriage, I may be biased but I think at least for me this has worked out better, I had many social issues and really low self-worth, I got matched to a really lively girl. I panicked when it started and I nearly ended the engagement because I thought we were so different how this could ever work.

What I was not expecting was how much I would fall in love with her. She awakened my sleeping lively side. She brings joy and fun to my life to the extent that I get depressed if I don’t see her face in the morning. I love her totally. If I had been left to my own devices I would never have thought myself good enough for her. Now our life is looking up as I just got a residency and I tend to think that is due to the luck brought to me by her.  I had an arranged marriage freaked out a bit in the beginning now she is my life.”

Aww, see what you were missing. So all the people out there freaked out by the idea of arranged marriage or marriage for that matter. Step out in the sun and take a leap of faith. It’s gonna get easier….easier but not today….

So guys, how do you like our arranged marriage stories so far? Because we got some funny ones too. This one user really pulled a ‘Main Tera Hero’ at his wedding.

4. A Funny Couple:

Funny story, my dad had an arrange marriage but everyone thought he got married to someone he never met but he had have met my mom before and as far as I can tell they were kinda dating! The same thing happened to me, my parents thought they were getting me an arranged marriage, little did they know it was my secret girlfriend that I never told them about”

Really funny, it couldn’t be funnier. Good going there, buddy.  So it was

n’t technically an ‘arranged marriage story’ but I’ll let it slip. These arranged marriage stories are good, right? Moving on, this next user, this poor man’s heart was fixed by an arranged marriage, yes.

5. A Miracle Couple:

arranged marriage stories

“I was in love with a girl pretty much my whole life. We were really close and eventually decided to get married after almost 3 years of dating. It all felt perfect until circumstances got as such that we mutually decided on breaking up. It was the worst heartbreak for both of us. Well a year from then, my parents told me about this girl they knew and thought if I’d be open to considering her for marriage. I decided to give it a try and my family approached her for marriage and we are so happy now”.

6. Changing Equations:

“They seemed really nice people and both the parents decided that they wanted to go ahead with the process. So the girl and I started talking and texting and getting to know each other. She seemed amazing as she wasn’t being all fake with me and gave me honest answers. We both really liked each other and decided to take the leap of faith and got married a couple of months ago. The love I have discovered with her is something unexplainable. The love I thought I knew with that girl before doesn’t even stand in comparison with what I have now. It’s still early on but I’m hoping for good things.”

Good for you man. You deserve good things in life. We wish you good luck.

We did not only found stories with happy endings, some of the people actually had bad experiences. Here you go with some disappointing arranged marriage story.

7. A Heart Break Story:

arranged marriage stories

“A friend of mine in the US fell head-over-heels in love with a girl in India who he met on Shaadi. Got married and brought her to the US and she divorces him in 2 months. Turns out, the girl married him only because he was from the same city as her boyfriend who couldn’t afford/wasn’t able to get her a visa. He used him to get into the country and then split.”

Unbelievable and sad. We can’t think that people actually do this, marry someone for just an avail. We are not happy to add this to our arranged marriage stories.

We think we’ll read and get some marriage advice from the most experienced people in the end. These users share their secrets and their happiness with all the people on the internet. First, a user married for 5 years shares tips for a long, happy married life.

8. Give And Take Couple

arranged marriage stories

“Been arranged married 5 years now. Have a 1-year-old son. Life is good. We have our disagreements, especially when it comes to taking care of our son. But we realized early on that respecting each other’s opinions and communicating clearly without getting offended or without bringing ego into the picture is critical, so any argument is closed before we leave the room. My wife is very good about money – doesn’t spend unnecessarily and was very supportive of me the last 3 years when my salary was very less and I could not afford many holiday trips or expensive purchases. This year I bought her a birthday gift of Christian Louboutins, so she was happy. Life is ‘give and take’.”

Indeed. Life is all about sharing. You give love and love you receive.  He’s really got some good advice. You should respect each other’s opinions. Communication is the key.

The next user says the most beautiful thing one could say for his wife. Last entry for our arranged marriage stories.

“She is the most important person in my life. My best friend. My life is so much better with her in it. It’ll be 10 years this year, and we have a beautiful daughter that we’re raising.”

All is well in the end. There’s a good ending for everybody. But let us remind you these are not the only people on the internet who have something to say. We have something to say too. Marriage is an important part of life. One can’t possibly imagine his life without someone to spend it with. It’s hard to live alone for your entire life. So what you’ve had some tough spot. Everybody goes through stuff, that’s what life is.
