UrStyleCoach Tells Us How Grooms Can Steal Hearts With The Latest Wedding Dresses For Men

When it comes to weddings, Brides and Grooms leave no stone unturned to give their guests a sight to behold. Though it is an equally grand occasion for both, but it is annoying when almost everything is written along the lines of great looks for brides and very little is spoken about the dudes who are ready to rock too. So, we asked Ms Neha Rakheja, a leading groom stylist and founder of UrStyleCoach, to dish about the details of latest wedding dresses for men and everything that revolves around that. And we are overwhelmed to see her extensive knowledge and ideas of the groom styling

1.Hi, First of all, tell us what is your idea of styling grooms?

My idea of styling grooms is that it should be classic and elegant.

2. Do you think styling in terms of wedding dresses for men has really transformed off late?

Yes, in the past two years we have seen a clear shift in trends. The millennial groom is getting more and more experimental. Latest wedding dresses for men are moving towards minimalist style approach. Moving away from heavy embroideries and going towards tone on tone and prints. When it gets to choosing colors, they are opting for fresh and newer palate for their D-day. The most popular colors are Ivory, Almond Buff, Salmon and Blush Pink with blush pink being the most popular. This is how things have been changing and people are moving towards more comfort and ease in dressing.

3. What do you think are the most important components of groom styling?

Grooms should wear clothes which reflect their inner self. For instance, a person who has always worn shirts & trousers, is suddenly seen wearing a heavily embroidered sherwani in bright colour on his wedding day, giving everyone a shock. When we work with clients we understand their lifestyle, color preferences and work on their strengths. We had a client who was in creative field, loved experimenting with colors and wanted to wear something fun for his wedding, we gave him a nice bandhgala with a quirky printed safa in neon colors.

4. What is the latest thing in the groom style that irks you the most?

Well, in today’s day and date, grooms still shy away from colors and stick to those same old heavily embroidered sherwanis and red stole on their wedding day. They spend lakhs on that piece which they will never wear again for any other occasion. I feel versatility is the key and there is a way to wear classic clothes. It should not be restrictive for that one day. I believe the grooms should experiment with their looks, keeping in mind their body type and colors. Blend it with a classic this will give them a lot of options, to mix and match with the clothes in their wardrobe later.

5.  What element of a fashion statement pleases you the most?

The most exciting part of fashion is that it gives liberty to create new things. I personally enjoy the elements of novelty in Fusion wear. A mix of both Indian and Western Wear always results in something new and interesting. This keeps the attire comfortable and grounded with our traditions. For instance, a fusion of The Short Kurtas and Chinese Collar Shirts with Nehru Jackets is very interesting. Grooms must add a couple of these to their wedding wardrobe for pre and post-wedding ceremonies and events.

6. Do you follow trends? And if yes, which trends excite you at the moment?

Generally, I go with what suits the client’s interest, personality, and body type. We do consultations Pre-wedding with our clients to understand their preferences and comfort zone and suggest styles as per their strength and personality. In particular, the trends which excite me the most for the latest wedding dresses for men are the Neon Prints, Lehariya Safa’s, and Quirky Prints on the Kurtas.

7.  What are the 5 must-haves for the groom’s wardrobe?

As discussed, the groom’s wardrobe should be vibrant and comfortable. It should reflect a powerful image and give him the opportunity to experiment and be creative with his clothes. Five must-haves for the groom wardrobe are

• Nehru Jacket which can be worn over Shirts and T-shirts
• Well cut suit & white shirt
• Cotton Kurta & Pyjama with a funky print if the groom wishes to have
• Vibrant Multi-Colored pocket squares
• Comfortable shoes preferably a pair of stylish loafers.

8. What is your advice for soon-to-be grooms?

My advice for soon-to-be Grooms is to Stay Calm, Experiment with your Looks, Use Suncream, Stay Hydrated and plan ahead, do try the entire look to avoid last-minute stress. Hire a good stylist because life never gives you a second chance to make your D-day special.
